EA Thinks that Next-Gen Consoles Are Not Necessary Yet

The traditional 5-year console cycle is coming to an end where we now expect the introduction of the so-called 'next-generation' game consoles. However, according to EA Labels boss Frank Gibeau, new next-gen hardware aren't necessary yet as "there are still things you can do on these systems (PS3, Xbox360)" for he believes that the company haven't utilised the last of it's potential greatness.
we haven't quite squeezed the last once of hardware horsepower out of these things, as you can see with Battlefield 3

Speaking to CVG, Gibeau related that he couldn't visualise on how the PlayStation 4 could be enhanced:

"The displays are already 1080p, you're already connected to the internet... You could make it faster, you could have more polys and you could up the graphics a little bit... but at what cost?"

Personally, I disagree. There surely is something to be thought of, who knows, a revolutionary game console may surface under a great leader with great vision. We never know.

However, as mentioned by Gibeau,

"It'll be interesting to see how [Sony and Microsoft] think about it in terms of the next generation but it seems to me that customers are happy, and we're happy to build games on [360 and PS3] right now."
So I guess EA feels that the current hardware is good enough, they like it and they are gonna use it. That's pretty assuring that more great games from them are still to come but still, I would prefer a revolutionary game console.
