Remembering Steve Jobs: Contributions of a Legend
"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."Steve Jobs - famed co-founder of Apple, the modern genius of our ubiquitous gadgets, innovative and legendary icon of our decade, I bid farewell to you.
It was so surreal, so shocking, so indescribably unbelievable. "No way! Steve Jobs can't be gone, he's only 56!" But yes, unfortuantely, it is confirmed. Trust me, it was like a slap on my face, my friends were talking about it, my teachers were lecturing about him and my parents were talking about how scary it was to die at the age of 56, and I agree, it is extremely difficult and unfortunate.
But then again, Steve Jobs was a genius. He was indisputably one of the best innovators of our decade. He, together with his vision, passion and dedicated team at Apple, revolutionised how music is listened to, how music is enjoyed, and how music is spread. Then, he crafted the nearly-unbeatable iPhone which enhanced how our phones look like, how our phones work like, and how our phones play like. The visionary perfectionist then continued on to recreate tablets, starting from the core to unveil a tablet which probably was the first to be well-received worldwide - the iPad, which arguably remains the leading tablet till date.
The scale in which the revolution occurred is amazing, because it doesn't stops there. You may think he only transformed the computer/gadgets industry into a new era, but it was more than that. He was a man everyone looked up to, but ultimately, he was a figure everyone inspired.
The increased popularity of tablets has slightly indicated the probable downfall of traditional computers, which also spearheaded the tablet industry. The revolution in phones gave birth to a new, cheaper way of portable gaming - rolling out a series of various games in the App Store, which then created an unbelievable amount of jobs and even gave companies new hopes. Altogether, Steve's renown creativity and passion has ultimately brought along what we call today 'Startups', influencing more and more individuals to brave the world, be bold to speak up, and translate their ideas into work.
On a lighter note, there is a joke circulating around twitter and it goes like this:
"why did late steve jobs name his company apple? because he wanted to keep the doctor away"Well, he may be a genius but unfortunately, cancer is a better genius.
Rest In Peace Steve. Your legacy shall remain, your work shall be improved and cancer shall hopefully be one day eliminated. You are a legend, an icon, not doubt to that, and it was everyone's luck to have such a wonderful person like you in our world. You will be missed.
